Air Hogs Vectron Wave

Air Hogs Vectron Wave

Air Hogs Vectron WaveAir Hogs are traditionally a brand of remote controlled vehicles such as toy airplanes, helicopters and rockets that are manufactured by the Spin Master company. The recently released Vectron Wave shatters this mold by taking on the form of a flying saucer that no longer requires a remote control.

Instead, the Vectron Wave UFO is an indoor flier that floats through the air on propellers and is controlled using any flat surface like the palm of ones hand. This is achieved through the use of obstacle sensors that act as automatic ground sensors able to detect how far the Vectron Wave is from the ground or the hand and keep it hovering at a certain distance above any obstacles below it. This means that the Vectron Wave UFO can hover continuously until the batteries run out. 6 batteries are required to run the Vectron Wave UFO and it also comes with a launching base for docking and charging; fully charging the unit takes approximately half an hour. The charging station can also halt the Vectron Wave by aiming it at the Wave and pressing the small button on the right side of the charger. Performing a throwing motion sends the UFO flying through the air. The Vectron Wave is built to be both safe and durable. The propeller stops immediately if an object happens to slip within its scope of motion.

Air Hogs Vectron Wave can be found in a variety of colours (from blue to orange to red/black) and is recommended for children ages 8 and up. The product comes with a single Vectron Wave UFO, a charger, a wand attachment and an instruction sheet. The UFO itself is 6.1 x 7.1 x 10.1 inches and weighs roughly 12 ounces or 0.8 lbs. The Vectron Wave is made mostly of styrofoam and looks like a wheel with an antenna sticking out of it. A colour scheme decorates each spoke. The Vectron Wave is not for use outdoors as any type of breeze will send it flying in the direction of the breeze out of control.
