Leap Frog Leapster Explorer

Leap Frog Leapster Explorer

LeapFrog Leapster Explorer handheld learning and play device, Leap Frog has come out with another great learning device for children, the Leapster Explorer. Geared toward kids in the age range of 4-9 years old, the LeapFrog Leapster Explorer offers multiple learning methods including help with reading, math and spelling. There is a library of more than 40 games and activities that can be purchased online with a Leaplet card for downloading or game cartridges to be inserted into the handheld for play and education.

The games for the Explorer feature popular characters such as Disney Princesses, Tinkerbell, Toy Story and Dora the Explorer. Each game has a different subject for study and play; and there are mini games and features for just playing time as well. The varied ways of learning are e-books, games, videos and online play. Each game cartridge is small enough to fit in a child’s hand and the handheld itself weighs only 3.5 ounces and its dimensions are 3.5 x 7.5 x 6.1 inches.

Parents can follow their child’s progress online in LeapWorld; detailed information on what has been played and the outcome of each playing or learning experience is available for the parents to review on the LeapFrog Learning Path.

The touchscreen is a big selling point of the Leap Frog Explorer, offering kids a more high tech way of playing and learning. The stylus is connected to the device so no fear of it being lost and it is easy for little hands to grasp and use. The buttons are also child friendly, with controller, power and volume buttons.

There are also many accessories available for the LeapFrog Leapster Explorer; an attachment for taking pictures and recording video, a carrying case to store the device, cords and games, and of course the charger to avoid the frequent purchase of batteries.

LeapFrog has done it again, creating yet another beneficial learning device for children to help them excel in and out of school. A imaginative world where children can play with their favourite characters from movies and television while learning how to read, spell, count and more; it’s proven to help the mind retain more when it’s fun.
